The female geologist, Am Ende, referred to in photo of a rebreather diver and elsewhere in the text, is in fact a newly certified diver with more hours on the rebreather (Cis-Lunar) than open circuit. She is a PhD graduate student in Geology at The University of North Carolina. She learned to dive for the project reported in Nat. Geo.
