Richard, I am very interested in finding out more about the plans for your home made dive lights, as I would be long on ability and short on cash. If you do not consider your plans propriatary, I would appreciate any help you could give me in building a 50 to 75W light. I've made myself a 12V7Ah 35W MR-11 light for about $140 and a 12V14Ah 75W MR-16 for $165. And, I personally think that my battery cases are better than the D/R equivalents, at least mine are round, not square! Dive lights are nice projects for DIY fans, there's not much you can destroy! As for catalytic converters: I once had a battery case explode while recharging. Back then, I was recharging the battery IN the case, with only a small venting hole that I had to open each time. What happenned is that I forgot to open the vent, went back after two hours of recharging, openned it and boom! I think that the folks at Lacey's will remember that one...
