Quick quiz - is the Odin the same as the Jetstream or the Cyklon? My Jetstream spits ice in fresh water at 3C or less. My understanding is that the internal design is supposed to preferentially freeze in one place where the ice breaks off in chunks easily. Also, the design of the Jetstream is such that the pressure sensing valve (behind the diaphragm) does *not* have a large air flow; it merely collapses the Starling resistor, which does have a large airflow. i.e. the Jetstream is designed for high performance in cold water. Not bad for such an old design. Breath easy. OTOH, I have seen Spiro freeze open. Scary trousers. Jason. You guess which one of us has cold water available...
