Hello,

I just found this resource today so I thought I would try it out. I'm
generally interested in the more design-centered technical aspects of diving
(must be my distorted and warped engineering background).

I am currently looking for two items very hard to find (at least here in
northern California) that you all may be able to help me with.

1. I'm looking for a source of 4mm full wetsuits. For those not versed in
metric conversions that's between the standard 1/8 - 1/4 inch wetsuits that
abound in most U.S. stores.  My wife and I dived extensively in Maui last
December and we were consistently cold by the end of each dive (wearing the
standard 1/8 inch suits).  I don't want to wear a 1/4 inch suit because I
don't have to go anywhere to do that, I can jump in the water here in Monterey
and feel like a seal with a full layer of blubber on.  Any leads would be
appreciated...

2. [A harder problem] I'm also looking for a source for dive slates that DO
NOT use pencils attached by small rubber tubing that always comes off.  My
wife and I go through at least a slate every 2-3 dives because the pencil
either comes loose or breaks, etc.  I'm guessing there must be a better
writing utensil that someone has invented for serious underwater use (real
marine life ID, etc.).  I would prefer it to be small, compact, light-weight,
and eco-friendly, but I'll settle for any information people may have.

I'd like to solve problem #1 before 1 week from today when I venture off to
the cold low-vis. water in Cabo san Lucas...
