Must be a new definition of flame...
You dive, therefore you are...

Richard, you know when most computer controlled devices don't work, such as if
your engine management system dies, hard disk crashes, an airline system fails.
But generally you notice something is wrong, and it won't kill you. I think
that is the difference with rebreather control systems. Firstly, not many
computers control life support systems where a failure, if unacted upon, will
result in death. I think the term "failsafe" means that in the event of a
malfunction, the system/device is still "safe". (eg joints on Newtsuit). Maybe
I'm wrong.

Remember, this computer will control the addition of oxygen, too little and not
enough is almost unnoticable to the diver.
Secondly, of the computers that control life support, how many have to operate
in SALT WATER under hydrostatic pressure? Salt water and electronics don't mix.

I am sure that some human factor is in the launch sequence, don't you?
No human trigger is required to add o2 to a breather, under normal use.

Sure is! See the post re software testing and bugs on this thread.

I don't know this person, only what he said. The reference was to make a point,
not point the finger.
I would be happy to defend my statement.
