In aquaCorps N6, the issue on computing, they compare 4 commercially
available (technical) decompression planning programs.

All apparently use some form of the Buhlmann algorithm. For more
information about the different programs, the article is an evaluation by
RW Bill Hamilton, and John T. Crea, some of the leading experts in the field
of custom decompression tables. The article is a two part one, and I can't
find my issue N7 (Rebreathers) that has the second part. If you can't get
ahold of these issues, maybe I can paraphrase what the article said, but no
guarantees on that.

As far as personal experience with the programs, mine is limited. A
friend of mine (Jim Bowden) is using Dr. X along with Sheck to plan a deep
cave penetration. Another friend, Dr. Ann Kristovich, used Dr. X to make
the women's record deep cave dive of about 550 feet in the same system.
This is not a plug for Dr. X, as I am sure there have been several dives
made using the other programs.... these are the ones I have experience with.

If anyone else out there has experiences, preferences, etc. please let them
be known.
