There's one concern (starting to sound like my posting about the BioMarine SCCR already) about AquaCorps reprinting some of these posts. What I post, generally, is part of a stream of conversation going on between myself and severa (many) other people. In such a case, it's quite possible for me to, in one posting, state, "Let me take the devil's advocate position for a moment" and argue a postiion or proposition that is completely antithetical to my views. Since posting is part of a stream of conversation, I may continue to defend that position for several more postings. If I am quoted in one of those subsequent messages and I have neglected to state in that posting that I'm playing devil's advocate, then I have been published espousing something I do not agree with. Thus, AquaCorps, with all good intent, and even if they should publish that complete posting, may accidentally put me on record defending a possibly abhorrent position. In addition, since this is a stream of conversation, I am as likely as anyone to utter something during that conversation that I would not normally utter were I writing a reasoned letter to the editor. How many of you sit down and, over the course of two or three days, reason out and craft your responses to this forum? How many of you, if you were warned that your letter would be published in a magazine, would just dash something off to the editor? Again, the issue comes back to context. Without the entire context of this forum, AquaCorps (or anyone anthologizing or reprinting parts of this forum) may accidentally, with no malice aforethought, completely misrepresent my thoughts and views. -- Kevin -- "I'll get around to it today -- For sufficiently large values of 'today'"
