I have written a very large number of articles (and interviews) in other fields. I'm also fairly frequently quoted in the electronics press. Before anyone starts flaming about what was said or not said - keep in mind that interview articles may excerpt a few minutes worth of discussion from very extensive interviews. The point of view provided by the author is usually their own and often makes little attempt to accurately reflect the whole view of the interviewee unless the article is specifically about the individual. This isn't done maliciously, but rather is the natural outcome of the interview/writing process. Writers generally try to be accurate, but sometimes words get transcribed erroneously. And, writers sometimes have their articles modified by editors who may or may not provide the opportunity for author's review. Many times the words are not exact, but the single point is fairly represented. Seldom are the interviewee's agenda's completely explained. If there is a problem, or something you don't like in an article, the best working assumption is that the author made a mistake (accidental or on purpose). So, the complaints ought to go against the author. If you have questions about whther or not Gilliam mentioned facts or positions beyond those quoted, give him a call and report the results back here. (Caution: then YOU become an author, with all of the same risks!).
