From: ddrake01 Is David Rhea from Maryville, TN (USA) out there on the net? Anybody know? I was reading through a few older issues of the NACD Journal and wanted to know what gear problems/short falls have caused major problems. I am looking into the caving/scootering gear as I'll be moving down from Michigan to Tenn. soon. I saw George's statement in one journal about manufacturers not asking and/or listing to divers about problems. If I remember correctly, George, you said you had too many dead friends to worry about some manufacturers feelings when you didn't dive with their (deadly) gear on a big WKPP dive. I don't want me and mine to become fish food due to ignorance. Do tell! What should I not buy and be leary of and WHY--Give details as to why please. Thanks for everyone's time that will be spent responding. I know this is a very broad question, but I'd like to get all the feedback I can. I haven't bothered with the caver list, because it seems to me the gear is almost the same for wreck diving and caving (scooters, lines, lights, tanks, etc.) David B.
