There is a good article on the subject of CO2 in Aquacorps v.3, n.1,Mix by Rev. Edward Lanphier. He discovered that some divers lack to a large degree the reaction to CO2 which usually causes people to breathe more. They were called CO2 retainers. One extreme subject tended to nearly pass out underwater from breathing too little. Divers who skip breathe a lot tended to be "retainers" but some seemed to be that way naturally. Jason, as I have become fond of your style, I'm glad you are careful with your free dives and hope you will make a point to breathe very deeply on your deep dives. ;) This article (and the whole issue) is a gold mine of info including "CO2 narcosis" and cumulative effects of N2 and CO2. Don't know if they have back issues, but they can be reached at 1.800.365.2655 or aquacorp@sh*.co* Cheers, Paul Smith
