I can see having a special fitting for Argon tanks/regulators (why not just use the CGA fitting and adapt a regulator), becuase you would never (probably) want to breathe argon....BUT...I would NEVER bother to spend extra $$ to buy special fittings for Nitrox, Oxygen, or Mixed Gas. I want my regulators to be instantly interchangeable, because everyone knows that equipment must be replaced and re-configured before different dives, depending on what you want to do. I guess I feel that if you aren't intelligent enough to get an O2 analyzer, analyze your gasses, and perhaps even mark your tanks with contents stickers or tags, I probably would be caught dead diving with you. All this talk about special fittings for Nitrox use makes me think there are an awful lot of people diving around out there who have no common sense whatsoever. It's precisely these people who require stickers such as "CAUTION, COFFEE IS EXTREMELY HOT" to be placed on every drive up window in the country. Tim Olson Underwater Ventures Wisconsin
