I disagree with the concept of different regulator fittings for mixed gas with the possibile exception of EANx with an oxygen content greater than 40% or 100% oxygen. Once you start introducing different fittings, then you open a Pandora's box. Where do you stop? One fitting for EAN22 - 40 Another fitting for EAN41 - 100 Another fitting for Argon Another fitting for Trimix etc etc In Australia in the commercial gas industry the Mk 10 bullnose fitting is used for a variety of gases including medical oxygen helium nitrox nitrogen The more obvious solution is to agree to an International Standard for the colour coding of diving cylinders, probably based on the US CGA system with a few modifications. A separate fitting for EAN41 - 100 has some merit due to oxygen cleanliness requirements. I believe that separate fittings for mixed gas in general would have a negative impact on the industry. And in Australia, recreational diving in dying on the tree, so lets not do anything to hasten its demise by restricting one of the few changes (mixed gas) in recent times that might get the industry moving again.
