Greg Bulling wrote of cave diving in Australia:
We are able to do this, as we have a complete monopoly on the
access, no CDAA card, no dive.
This is the case for sites in Mount Gambier and the Nullarbor, but not
necessarily so for cave diving sites in other parts of the country.
Cave diving in NSW in sites administered by the Jenolan Trust and the
Wellington Council accepts divers who are part of the Australian Speleological
Federation and who are trained by the CDAA or IANTD or TDI at the moment.
That said, I'd like to back up Greg's description of the way the CDAA runs
it assessment. I didn't do a course with them, but did do their exams to
cross over to their cave level and found their assessments methods very
fair and very demanding.
