The examinator is not involved in the IDC(Instructor Development Course) and (usually) does not know the candidates before the IE (Instructor Examination). I just wanted to get this cleared up. For the rest I agree that competence, and not the amount of money involved, should determine certification. Unfortunately, this is not very often the case with commercial organisations.
