A few further notes on the employment of argon for suit
inflation/insulation augmentation.

A dry suit should ry suit should be inflated and purged at least 2 and
preferably 5 times on the surface to remove all air for total
effectiveness. DUI makes a "suit sucker" that power evacuates the suit
when placed over the over the exhaust valve that minimizes the number of
purges necessary. A larger tank on the surface can be used on the
surface to supply argon for the purge, no since wasting your u/w argon.

It is debated the actual effectiveness of argon as an insulative
augmentation gas. DUI felt that a 50% increase in the insulation
effectiveness was seen with proper purging of the dry suit. No serious
studies were attempted. This means your underwear thickness could be
reduced for those who are starting to fill their suit out a little more
than when they first purchased it or cooler water temperatures could be
tackled for a longer period.

Respectfully,
Jay
