My personal experience is that after having used O2 for deco for 6 years and purchasing same at dive shop X, I went to dive shop X and the operator asked me for my Nitrox card. Not having one he refused to sell me O2, stating some insurance liability BS. I then asked him if his insurance covered the non-DOT certified tanks he had sitting next to his fill tank. I understand the need for training, but when people have been doing something as simple as O2 deco for years the thought in my mind is that they simply want to squeeze a couple of more bucks from me. I do not mind at all paying for training that I need and will use. I do think however most of the technical training I have been exposed to has been rather "dumbed down". But the dives were fun as they always are! Did a very nice dive in the Crossunder tunnel at Madison Blue yesterday! r.b. still wet from Florida!
