Even though I'm a newbie, I think I can make the following comments:

It could also incorporate a temperature transducer that is thermally
insulated from the rest of the TU, so the temperature reported is the actual
gas temperature, from which the actual number of moles of gas used can be
computed.

CPU and light *SHOULD* be separated, so if the lighting drains off the
battery completely, the computer is still operational. The diver will always
have the option of lighting the screen with his lamp. Also, this way, the
battery for the computer can be optimized for the computer's needs.

And if the receiver needs a special power supply (I'm *NOT* a radio
engineer), it could also have it's own supply, so the "less" critical
reception of tank pressure could fail before the crucial computer does.

Now, speaking of buddy breathing and regulator/wrist data linkup, how
about (okay, this could be a wild goose chase, but since I may be blurting
nonsense, I might as well do it at full speed ahead) enabling monitoring the
air^h^h^hgas donor's tank pressure in case of switching to the buddy's tank
pressure?

Please dose flames carefully, after all, I'm just a newbie anyway...
