For that matter, there's no real need to go diving...
The point is, Nitrox is simply a more efficient gas than air. It's 
just another tool to use. Sure, some people make money from it, but 
the bottom line is it can enhance safety. 
Nobody is forcing you to use it, and for the same token, it's not a 
panacea.  Just another tool.
