On the Nitrox Machine, I remember reading the article and thinking "nice try,
too combersome". I would think that big resort shops or something with a lot
of volume and an agressive clientele might buy it. The problem with the
machine is that it required a lot of maintenance/shipping/delivery, etc.

I figure that most people who would really consider using it are already doing
the partial pressure fills or are filling with banks of 80% or 40 % or some-
thing like that. When reading it I thought of a big white elephant being
pitch in an add as a beautiful ballet dancer.

I could be wrong of course. I don't fill and they said the big advantage was
the lack of responsibility, read liability insurance, for the dive shop. I
certianly welcome attempts to further the safety of the sport and easy, but
safe access to nitrox.

Sport Diver seems to be a bit of a "on the fense" mag. It is geared toward the
sport diver who is a wantabe, or at least wants to know about what the big boys
are doing. It is good for general education of the advance skills needed to do
certain advanced diving. I wouldn't consider it a purely rec. diving magazine.
They have too much technical stuff such as rebreathers and caving in their
features. It's new and pretty good overall. What do other people think about
it? I always find it a bit lacking when I want to know the details on a tech-
nique or skill. It always leaves me disapointed, usually because I already
knew what they were printing and they didn't go into enough detail to teach
me anything...I think someone said "it's like sitting down for a big feed and
getting half a bowl" or something like that.

I gues the editors hope the audience of macho men rec. divers who want to be
advanced/tech divers is big enough to make a living off of. Nice pretty fish
pictures Mr. Pyle.
