Tonight at the meeting of the Wakulla County Commission the issue of rezoning the area across from the Park entrance will be open to public debate and brought to a vote. Channel Six News has run our tapes and story, and the Tallahasse Democrat has published our maps. Yesterday, the editorial board of the Democrat came out strongly against the rezoning, asking residents to show up and voice their opinion. Tonight the head of the Park Service will be presenting our case, and some of our people will be there. If this does not work, the State will try to buy the land, which they should do anyway. Environmentally sensitive land can be "tagged" or identified and put on the priority list to buy should it come up for sale. This is one of the things Woodville Karst Plain Project does. - George Irvine
