Everyone seems to misunderstand about Leon Sinks Cave System in Tallahassee. The cave has more than twenty (20) sinkholes. Of those twenty, only one (1) is in the National Forest - Sullivan Sink. Little and Big Dismal may be part of the system, at least we are pretty sure that Big D is connected - we will soon know. The other entrances, including Cheryl and even Emerald, are in fact on private property. These are the areas we must be careful of so that they don't gate them off. Fires will obviously get them closed off. Enough accidents will get them closed. Now that everyone is a big time tech diver and has deep scooters and all kinds of nitrox modelling certifications its time to get smart: dive the right gas. These caves are big, black, deep and scary (at least to me). They are harder to reference. There have been accidents of every kind, but mostly deep on air accidents, some involving confusion about the way out, others just confusion. The other big problem is changing lines and missing line arrows. Do not change the lines or remove WKPP or "trey" arrows. Every arrow and line has a reason. We want the lines to run into the daylight zone. We want the T's where they are. Keep in mind that for us it is easier to dive "through" for exploration, so we depend on our arrows, lines and bottles being where they should be. Any bottles left in the cave are intentional. - George Irvine
