Hi Jason,
You asked;

        Does anyone have weight comparisons for tanks? I *believe* that
232 Al weigh the same as 232 Steels(lightweights) of the same WC.
All our old club Al
are 207bar, anyway, and not a lot lighter.

        Jason.

My Al 95's (11.5 litre 240 bar) have tare of 15.3 stamped on them. My 88's
are out on loan at the moment but from memory they are 11.15 litre at 220
bar and they mass 14.7 kg or there abouts. Both manufactured by CIG,
since renamed BOC.

PS, My Al 88's will be coming up for their 20th birthday soon. There was
a batch of 63 cuft alloys that came from europe that have had cracks form
around the neck, but this is *rare* and the *very few* cylinders that have
had this problem have been replaced *free* with a *new* cylinder even though
some of them were over 20 years old. Maybe alloys can take it after all?
