I would love to join in an international forum on the net as part of the
tek 94 conference. We feel a little 'out in the cold' here as far as the
new technology goes so involvement from our side of the globe would be
beneficial here. We are just starting to develop our own technical
expertise....more from an experience level than any structured training.
At present mix is HIDDEN & RARE so we are trying to form a local group to
be a central focus of discussion & methodology.
As for the net tek talk....just say when. On line chat is very expensive
our end, it is cheaper to work off line and update regularly (my net
access is via compuserve), but others who are local to INTERNET may be able
to go on line. Whatever, we will try and work something out.
Some of us will be able to participate online. I have heard IRC
and email drops mentioned.
Rick: What machine and net access will you have at TEK 94?
If it's a Sun (or DECstation or SGI) there are all those groovy audio
visual tools available.
I don't expect the MBONE would appreciate a multicast session, but
I can probably support a point to point audio/video channel from Sydney.
