If only the ability to use written language was acknowledged as a barometer
of intelligence! A person who cannot compose a coherent sentence can hardly
be expected to know a great deal about.

(BTW - this is coming from a 'neophyte' with 67 dives total as well as
someone for whom English is a second language. I am not impressed. More
can be learned by a curious neophyte from reading quest.com for a few hours
than after a thousand proud bragging anecdotes by the good captain.)

Perhaps I should be happy with the neophyte status - what if numerous deep
[air?] dives followed by angry bragging sessions kill brain cells?

Direct examination of psychologically healthy people shows pretty clearly
that they are positively attracted to the mysterious, to the unknown, to the
puzzling and unexplained. This is noteworthy because it contrasts sharply
with the psychologically sick person's tendency to be threatened by the
unfamiliar, the ambiguous , the unknown.

General Psychology.
