Since this post was originally directed at me, I feel I have a right to respond. JT, there are actually many versions of "dumbass", such as, but not limited to: * the one who doesn't properly read/comprehend what is written - you, for instance * the one who is selective in his responses - you, for instance * the one who (stupidly?) requotes questions previously posed he'd rather not answer - you, for instance * the one who has no consideration for others - you, for instance * the one who presumes certain facts or fallacies - you, for instance Let's take that last: how do you know that Nic Gotto (remember, his name is still in the subject line) "will risk his life on an unproven piece of equipment and not think there is any risk"? You talked to him about that? The question is rhetorical, yet you continue to make unproven allegations about Nic Gotto's diving style without knowing diddley squat about what he did, how he did it and how he presented it to others, if at all. So let's take your point of "risk" and making others aware of "risk". Do you really think that members of a family who know nothing about diving can make an informed decision, leave alone opinion, about equipment or technique based on what is told them? Do you not think that divers, ANY diver, will be relatively biased? Do you not think that the vast majority of divers, but of course, consider that their equipment is the best? I recall Michelle saying something about Nic buying this equipment because he considered it safer than OC (rightly or wrongly - at that time). How would Michelle be able to naysay this ... unless she was also a diver and I suspect although I don't actually know, that she was not. Let's then take the second "version of dumbass" above (and I quote your quote of it below). I still have to hear how you decide on who, using a RB, is "allowed" to dive with you on one of your much-vaunted dive trips that you organise? > At 06:31 AM 3/24/03 -0500, George Irvine wrote: > > > Dumbass, she was talking about scrubber breakthroughs, you > > ignorant moron.
