The failure rate on these things is statistically significant. They are not robust ( mil spec ), not sufficiently redundant and their warning system when something goes wrong is not reliable. When a piece of foam can bring the shuttle down which meets all of the above requirement in spades, you have to ask yourself, " why am I in the water with this thing ?".
