There are ways around cross contamination of dive gases. Invest in the proper equipment to analyze the gas. Pay the extra money for citified gas. This means the gas supplier will analyze the gas and will certify to its content and purity in writing. You tell them what you want and thats what you get. Pay now or pay later. I am starting to think that there may be to much witch craft and voodoo floating around in peoples' heads when it comes to mixing gas. This is a learned skill, no it's not rocket science or brain surgery. But it is learned , a lot of time, practice and a considerable amount of money is involved. I know I am paid for what I do, so lets let the diving professional earn what they have coming. If a mix station is not in your area then maybe a group of divers should set one up, but educate your self by going to the professionals and learning how to do it properly. It is not as if the training is not available. At a seminar I attended at TEK two years ago regarding the legalities of diving, a well known and long time diving professional said it quit simply. DIVERS *@ UP lets get over it. Those of you there will recognize who that was. JUST MY .02 Now that I have said this, I will sit back keep my mouth shut and let the flames fly in.
