RP>want! I think the "standard" can be summed up in two sentences: RP>"WHATEVER happens to you when you willingly go underwater is RP>COMPLETELY and ENTIRELY your own responsibility! If you cannot RP>accept this responsibility, stay out of the water!" I'll second this motion. RP> >>>snip<<< . If a charter boat RP>captain does something really stupid and a diver gets hurt or killed, the RP>diver has nobody to blame because he or she accepted that risk when he or RP>she hired that boat captain. On this I disagree. I've worked on charter boats for the last 7 years and with both good and bad captains. If you are injured because of an incompetant captain (and there are many) then he is responsible. RP>On day *one* of ANY technical diving course (I want to say any diving RP>course at all, but we'll limit it to technical-type diving courses for RP>this discussion), the instructor would say to the students: RP>"In diving, we have a credo that is: 'WHATEVER happens to you when you RP>willingly go underwater is COMPLETELY and ENTIRELY your own RP>responsibility! If you cannot accept this responsibility, stay out of the RP>water!' If any of you do not understand this, I will explain it to you now. RP>If any of you are not willing to accept this, then you may withdraw from RP>this course and receive a full refund. If you are going to willfully engage RP>in any diving after this course, you MUST understand and accept this RP>credo." Rich, I go along with this one too, but do you really think instructors would go for the full refund bit? MRWConsult@ex*.co* /\/\/ --- DeLuxe 1.25 #11829
