The Ressel dive was funny. After having loaded all the stuff at the Doux de
Coly in the car, Herve and I drove over to the Ressel.
Next morning we went in to dive sump 1 and sump 2, returned after ten and a
half hours and went home.

With the EKPP growing according to the standard of the WKPP, we need to get
the team and his members to a level to be able to do long range support,
like on a dive like this.

The Ressel is the most dived cave in France, having a name like Ginnie
Springs in the US.
It gets deep, about 80 meters after 1500 meters, and a decompression has to
been done after 2 km in the cave.
There are several surface areas at the end of sump 1, which we visited. Sump
2 is shallow and only a few hundert meters long, but a dry area is in it,
which has to be crossed with all the dive gear to get into a big dry chamber
after sump 2.

Imagine that no US diver has ever been beyond the Hinkle and compare this to
the Ressel. In the past French divers tried to cross S1 without success,
setting up "big" explorations.
Herve is now the first French in his own country who has done it. I am sure
that the fact, that a French DIR diver ( there are not so many) did it as a
walk in the park reflects the advantages of the way to dive.
