I am almost afraid to ask. What is the "buddy check" thing they do?

Lets get it right , the truth is Cobb has quit for that and other
reasons...... the other 2 took the fundamentals TWICE and had it down so
pat one almost killed the other with the BUDDY CHECK shit they think they
learn in the class. Then they quit diving............
