To All

I'm a techdiver mailing list "newbie" (having only subscribed for a couple
of weeks and this is my first contribution) and I'm a "technical diving
wanabe". I'm only a lowly recreational diver (CMAS ****) and recreational
scuba instructor (CMAS ***) with over 2000 dives so I guess I really
shouldn't be sticking my nose in here with you technical dive Gods, but I'm
going to anyway.

I have a strong interest in technical diving and have read just about
everything I can find on the subject. When I got my Internet connection this
was one of the first mailing lists or newsgroups that I subscribed to. I
thought that it would be the ideal way to get the most up-to-date
information on the subject before I went out and took a course. (Since I
live in Bermuda, this will be no small undertaking. It isn't going to be
cheap and it isn't going to be easy. So I'm NOT!! doing it to be
"fashionable".) Well, there have been a few good letters posted but,
unfortunately, the inane outnumbers the useful (to be frank, I really don't
give a damn about the pros and cons of Aqua Corps' graphics). I decided to
keep on, even though trying to get the few nuggets from the rest of the crap
was wasting a lot of time, until now. I've gotten so sick of the "newbies"
and "wanabies" comments that I've decided that it just ain't worth it! I'm
sure that this mailing list could easily be made "invitation only" or you
could figure out some way of checking peoples' C-cards and divelogs before
you "allow" them to join your group; after all it should be easy for techies
like you.

Well that's about it for my first ever Internet flaming session. Like I
said, this is my first contribution to the techdiver mailing list; my next
contribution will be unsubscribe!

YES!! Mr. Hellas you ARE sounding elitist!!!
