I have them all and they all work. The 200 first has the coating, and that is what I am now using for my open water rig since is configures so easily. It will do the same for doubles, but I am using the flathead sixes there and the US4s on my rebreather doubles. The only differences in these things other than that the outside of the 200 seconds is smaller is the port angles and the fact that some of them have a 1/2 stroke port which needs to be plugged, adapted, or used with the hose they send with the reg. All the insides and parts are the same. I do not know about the finish, but I can say that with Atomic, they told me that if any of those finishes get damaged by me leaving the regs on safety bottles in a cave, they will replace them. (Atomic is like a Scuba Pro minus the bullshit). I have never left an Apeks anywhere, but so far the only ones that seem to hold up when abused are the Oceanic firsts and seconds ( due to high quality parts) and the Scuba Pro seconds, but then the Scuba Pro seconds don't work if you leave them out of the water long enough to dry - I leave mine in a plastic box wet). -----Original Message----- From: scubadave@ju*.co* [mailto:scubadave@ju*.co*] Sent: Saturday, August 03, 2002 9:07 AM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Which Apex Reg: TX100,ATX100,ATX200 I need some new regs and can get a discount on Apex and like sealed 1st stages.
