Very few (only the biggest at 240'+) commercial dive boats have a helo pad
onboard, Physicians are unheard of (we have DMTs which are basically
hyperbaric trained EMTs) I'd say it's 50% on the sat phone, and for an
emergency, I'm reaching for the sideband, not that POS mini-m set. We all
have chambers onboard, actually 2 because you have to have one ready to go,
and you have one in use with a diver in deco. The video system is more for
the convienience of the company man and dive supervisor to be able to see the
details of the job and any problems or unanticipated situations directly.
Hell, chambers are cheap, I'd like to see one onboard if I'm diving 250'.
