Well, we can go 8000 feet at 300 or whatever , but you are not going to get anyone out that way other than dead, and that would be itself a real feat. From what I have read, it sounds like they are trapped in an air pocket in a flooded tunnel. No mention that the passageway is impassible because of debries, just flooded. Sounds like it is a made to order rescue for the WKPP guys since they seem to have the most experience in deep underwater cave penetration. Just a thought....
