Karla, I have broken Rule Number One on several occasions in the past, and

am luckily here to tell about it. The rest of you may or may not be so

lucky. This is not something I like to make a practice of, but as in the

case of diving with Billy and more recently with JT and Christina Young (

now I really am busted), the intent was to make a difference. Clearly, I

did not, since all I ever got from Billy was the sad and sorry phone calls

about his students who screwed up , and all we see from JT and his gang are

stories of how they are learning the hard way. Christina is a lost cause

and serves better as a power of example. JJ and I were both on that trip,

and we thumbed it after the first day, so did not stick our hand on the

stove twice. Andrew G and Kane went up there with the best intentions, and

so far three of that gang merely quit diving - exercised Option Number One

since they could find no way not to break Rule Number One due to the hard

headedness of the ruling party up there. The fact is anyone who is in a

position of teaching any kind of diving is breaking the rule by

definition.

As per the usual, if you don't like my "delivery", use the delete key. if

you want to criticize me, well you need to improve the resume a tad. The

funniest thing to me is that all of you hang on every word, scrutinize

everything I say, and remember everything I say, no matter how much you

dislike me. JT saves all the email and reads it under the covers at night.

Delivery will stay as it is ( because it is working the way I intended it

to work).

When the mate on my fathers SF boat got drunk, the captain would wake him

up with a hand-held air horn against his ear. Who was the asshole in this

case?

Billy had some stroke things going on, like the bondage wings ( he was
an OMS dealer), but what a good guy to dive with. I dove with him a bunch,
his captains who were squared away as well, and I helped him with some
students, and with some situations where he needed the "secret weapon" as he
called it. He did not suffer from any delusions about CCRs or any of the
other crap we hear from those who are taking his name in vain. The guy ran a
good trip. Too bad the NE morons can not learn from him.

I have to correct you on the "get in the face" part. I did see him get
in the face of one guy - the Seeker captain, and it needed to be done. I
also saw him tell people they were not going to dive stroke rigs on his
boat, like independent doubles and other nonsense.

Yet, George, you have just acknowledged that you don't hold true to your
own preaching.

Now, I realize that you will go on the attack here. But stop and think
about it.

What is DIR's Number one rule? NEVER DIVE WITH STROKES. Yet you just
admit doing just that. He had stroke gear. Bungied wings.

Now, keep in mind, I don't have a problem with your methods, but your
delivery sucks.

And you can't go around preaching one thing and doing the opposite. Well
you can, but it only makes you look bad. Really bad.

  Just some thoughts.
