I almost thought you were being serious for a moment.

I feel I have to stand up for DiveRite at this point. I have been using a
TransPacII for about 30 dives now, and although only recently did I get it
"just right" (maybe the last 8 dives), it is pretty nice at this point.
Here are some tips: you MUST get the crotch strap, and the integrated weight
pockets are HIGHLY recommended, though be careful about how you close the
velcro flap on them, as I managed to lose two sets of weights in the surf
when I failed to properly match the full velcro pad to it's mating surface.
Another good thing to add to the harness is the lift bag that mounts
underneath the harness by two quick clips. It is convenient and nearly
transparent on most every dive (unless I use it). The downside: harness
pockets offered by DiveRite don't seem to work very well. I tried a clipper
pocket, and don't think it's a good idea to get.

Having said all that, would I buy a TransPacII today? As much as I like it
(and it has traveled with me a bit), the answer is no. Today I would get
the DUI WT2 weight system, an SS backplate and a wing. The only reason I do
not switch now is that I don't want to spend $500+ when I already have a
pretty good system that works for me.

As a company, I think Dive Rite is doing a good job - I will be sending my
harness in soon for some restitching, and they were very responsive and
promised a two-week turnaround (I am in CA and they are in FL - and that
includes the shipping time!)

So, there's one man's opinion....

Regards,
Gene
