Thanks to all that replied.

I am already evolving my kit into a dir like (no flames please) config . I
use a long hose and donate that if required. My main problem is in getting
the backplate and cylinders at the correct heigths and comfortable. I keep
trying differing ajustments on the harness and the cylinder mounts etc. I do
not have the flexiblity to reach the valves and manifold when wearing the
rig. (short arms ). I have to unclip the belt and throw the kit up and
forward to get to the valves.

I was hoping that some one would reply and say --- well the lengths on my
straps are XXX inches and I am x foot Y.

From the posts it seems there are two opinions on the ER course. I thought
this was nescessary for a basic trimix course.
This is my aim to take the mix course. I regularly dive in the 35 - 45 m
range but I do notice the narcosis. Perhaps I do not deal with it as well as
some others. So obviously any way to cut the narcs down would lead to a
safer and more enjoyable dive.

Many thanks again

Brian Garner
