Does anyone have experience with Poseidon Cyklon 300 regs? I am primarily concerned with reliability, free-flow tendency, and maintenance cost. I have been offered an older model oxygen-clean Cyklon 300 reg. for US $175. I would like to use it for a stage bottle when diving mix (I already have a clean Scubapro for the other stage). I now own and dive with two Poseidon Odins, and am very happy with their performance and reliability - but they are also under Poseidon's free parts warranty, so I don't worry much about maintenance costs. Pros: - Cyklons 2nd stages aren't directional, and can be used on either a left or right stage bottle without hose twisting. They also can be tucked into a surgical tubing loop at the stage bottle neck, for ease of stowing. - The Cyklon purge button isn't easily depressed when the reg is bunged against the stage. - The first stage has a DIN fitting, which is good for reliability. - Poseidon is the only manufacturer (in the US at least) that promotes use of other gases than air with their regs. - The price is good (O2 cleaning runs at least $40 here, and converting a non-DIN reg to DIN is another $40-50). Cons: - Cyklons have a reputation for freeflow. - Cyklons are expensive to overhaul. - The 2nd stage has no desensitizing switch. Any suggestions/recommendations from netland are appreciated. John
