Hi Rich,

I guess you did a fast decent and tried to inflate during or
immediately after that?

Than it's the known problem with the balance chamber bleeding system:
If the pressure in that chamber get lower than ambient
(due to slow pressure buildup through the bleeding shingle)
your relative IP will drop.

Poor design, but ignored by Sherwood.

> Is this reg a bad choice for an argon reg?

definitely :-(
intermittently use and denser gases may worsen the effect.

I use the Poseidon 1st stage with the OPV (but only because
I got a spare one already ;-)
Apeks DS1 or DS4 would be the choice if you already took your
other regs from the Apeks line (interchangeable spare parts).

HTH,
	Thomas.

I recently made a dive to 330' and just past 300' my argon inflation came very
slowly. Once back above 300' flow seemed to return to normal. I used a Sherwood
Brut and this was the deepest I've ever used that regulator. Tank pressure at
that point would have been well above 1000psi. The IP is set at 125psi. I'm not
exactly sure what went wrong or how to fix it.
