I originally sent the following to Jim off list, but since that piece of crap was posted I asked his permission to re post it to the list. God knows it's nothing profound or so important you HAVE to know, but I refuse to let bullshit like that go unchallenged or to let the dick head that wrote it believe we are sitting here acceptingly, thinking he is anything other than a gutless wimp. Hi Jim We had to postpone our Downunder Fundamentals course to November in Sydney, but I am looking forward (with more trepidation now than I was earlier!) to finding out where the bar is, and where I am relative to it. DIR is the ONLY way I can justify (to myself and my wife, who is familiar with the principles) my tech and especially cave diving. I ONLY dive with 5 other DIR oriented guys her in Melbourne. I hope that when the course comes, I am able to have the same courage of my convictions as you have demonstrated and react accordingly. I salute you. It's often said in any cave course that: "Anyone can call the dive, at any time, for any reason" Jim has exercised that right in the pool (literally). On a testosterone driven list like this, what Jim did takes guts and a very strong, self composed character. Anonymous, point scoring pussies who don't have the basic decency to post under their own name ? ... well that's all I need to know abut their character.
