Most of the new NiMH lights - Halcyon, Dive Rite and Sartek - seem to be using the 4/3 A cells (or the slightly wider fat A) These are oddball industrial sizes, shaped like an oversized AA and available in capacities of 3800 to 4500 mAh, and cost about $7 each for soldertails. For more capacity, usual practice is to put two or more strings in parallel with each other. Don't think any of them bother with a catalyst. If you're into lights you might want to join the HID mailing list on Yahoo where such things are regularly covered. >Lighting technologies is a topic I find extremely interesting. > >Now I see EE selling the Helios canister containing Ni-MH batteries. >Does anyone know what brand of batteries they use?
