Hi again Glyn,
See my other post, but I have the same problem with ambient temperature =
and high humidity here in Darwin, and need to run the compressor in an =
airconditioned room!
And again, that I why I have avoided running Helium thro' it.
Sounds like we need to source helium.
Where are you in Thailand, we can chat off the list?
Thanks,
Jeff the Darwinian.

Thanks for everyone on the list for a real quick response to this.
  =20
I use a cascade for O2, it's also very cheap here in Thailand but the =
He is pricey and the supply pressure is only 2000psi therefore I would =
need a alot of cylinders to make an effective cascade. If the compressor =
can take it then that's the only real effective way without a Haskell.
What worries me is how hot the compressor would get, we have high =
ambient temps here anyway (32 oC).
BTW, I will only be pumping pure He, I heard a while ago that some =
idiot tried this with pure O2. I don't need to tell you the outcome!!
  =20
I must also apologise to the list as I think I sent my mail requesting =
a read receipt, so sorry in advance for the hassle.=20

    Hi Glyn,
Are you trying to boost pure He or are you taking trimix and pumping =
it from one set of twins to another?=20
I would recommend getting a helium analyzer if you are trying to do =
the latter. Second I've heard this may make your compressor quite hot =
doing this.=20
There is a small group of us, (3) who spend several hundred dollars =
a month on helium. We use a cascade system and have no need for a =
booster pump or the use of a compressor to boost the He (we get our He =
at 3000psi). For the cost of a booster pump I can purchase a lot of =
storage bottles.
    =20
    Hope this helps.

      Hi List,
      =20
I am trying to pump Helium although I do not have access to =
booster pump. I have read (in the excellent O2 hackers guide) that it is =
possible by allowing the He to expand to Atmospheric pressure and then =
recompressing it with a normal compressor. Also using a bladder in =
between the cylinder and compressor inlet to regulate the feed pressure.
I was wondering if anyone on the list had actually got any =
experience in doing this and could offer advice.
      =20
      Thanks in advance
      Glyn.
