Hi Glyn,
I know some one who does that, he slowed the compressor down to 3/4 of =
it's speed to avoid overheating.
It seems like the lower density gas (He) will cause the compressor to =
over heat.
Any way, this guy does it, in the way it is described in O2 hackers.
You could probably use a bag and fittings such as those on a quantiflex =
(relative analgesia) or anaesthetic aparatus.
I thought of blending 12/50 (so only 50%) and then pumping that to =
reduce the potential over-heating problems.
Then blend with that, but then it we could not get the higher PP of =
Helium.
Personally, I don't want to take the risk of damaging my compressor, so =
I toss out the helium.
Kind regards,
Jeff the Darwinian.
BTW, highest helium prices in Australia!!!

  Subject: Helium Pumping

  Hi List,
  =20
I am trying to pump Helium although I do not have access to booster =
pump. I have read (in the excellent O2 hackers guide) that it is =
possible by allowing the He to expand to Atmospheric pressure and then =
recompressing it with a normal compressor. Also using a bladder in =
between the cylinder and compressor inlet to regulate the feed pressure.
I was wondering if anyone on the list had actually got any experience =
in doing this and could offer advice.
  =20
  Thanks in advance
  Glyn.
