If you dive air, there is no deco that works. The symptoms you are talking about are damage done by the rigidity of the red cells under high partial pressures of nitrogen, and the body's reaction to this insult. If you blow off the deep stops on any dive, there is a good chance you will form bubbles in the tissues, which will cause damage, and which will give the same symptoms as the body reacts. Both of these are usually called 'inadequate" deco by the agencies and people who promote air diving and bullshit deco schedules ( the "bend and treat" style schedules). If you really screw up - deep air and no deep stops, you can get the "flu like symptoms" which is the body's immune system fighting off the damage. Did any of you see that drooling idiocy I posted from the PADI "tec" director? -----Original Message----- From: Bear Ronald L Contr 40 FTS/CAX [mailto:ronald.bear@eg*.af*.mi*] Sent: Tuesday, March 12, 2002 3:06 PM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: What is it about "poor" deco that causes tiredness? List, Is this phenomenon understood? I know we understand it happens. George says that your deco was bad unless you are "ready to rock". Even the PADI rescue manual lists fatigue or excess tiredness as a symptom of DCS or perhaps subclinical DCS. But what causes it? Thanks in advance.
