From: "George Irvine" <girvine@be*.ne*> > Need another common profile and we can go over what works and why it works. George, Seeing the profiles is (to me) interesting, yet ultimately useless since I think i'm missing some of the underlying logic (possibly I missed a previous post or didn't understand what I read). Rather than giving you some numbers and seeing what you send back, i'd like to understand more of your logic so I can generate my own profile and then get your input on what I have done wrong. If you can please back track for a few moments on a few points i'd appreciate it. The first question I have is how you determine how long to hang at each stop. In a previous post you mention max times for each of the depth ranges, but assuming i'm at my max depth for enough time to be well beyond the minimum deco rules and less than the saturation point how would I determine how long to hang at the stops? The next is how to determine how long you need to hang with a gas switch? In some of the profiles you have posted the stops appear to be the normal stop time up to that point, plus the time it takes for blood to circulate after the switch (2-3 minutes), but in others it appears to be much longer. Connected with this would also be how to determine the length of the 20' stop. Thanks, -dave -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
