Hi Christopher,

*Very* interesting post but one *minor* point.  You said;
DCIEM allows for 7 minutes of surface time prior to recompression.
Abyss will be set up for 5 mins, with a reccomendation for as short an
interval as is possible.
end quote.

DCIEM SurD O2 table allows for 7 minutes *from leaving last stop to arriving
at chamber bottom* rather than "surface time". Ascent for the last 30 ft is
at 30 ft/minute and the chamber blowdown is usually about 1 minute, so
DCIEM actually recommends the same surface interval that you do.

As to your closing question, Hmm, What I'd say now and what I'd do then are
probably two very different things. I've used SurD O2 and I know it works
(something that makes a difference IMHO), so I'd lean toward IWR. We have
had problems with the local chamber, so I'd lean toward IWR. I think
immediate recompression is a *good* thing, so I'd lean toward IWR. What I'd
do when faced with it - ?????
cheers Jason :)
