Try www.diveboat.com the Great Escape is the best boat out here..  They are
located in San Pedro, about an hour from Palm Springs.  Get on the 10 and
head west until you hit the 110 and then follow the signs to San Pedro
Marina..

We dive year round out here and in May you'll have water temps in the high
50's to mid 60's, and vis should be in the 40'+ range..  If you get a chance
try to get out to the outer Islands like Santa Barbara [ sea lion rookery]
or San Clemente, but if you're pressed fro time go to Catalina Island..
