Keep in mind that helium is not as compressible as air or its components, so
you have to factor that into your mixing otherwise you get a lot less helium
that you think you are getting. Helium is useless for narc when below 30%,
we have found. As you know, the oxygen is narcotic, so boosting that , like
some of the real geniuses do ( I saw an instructor teaching 25% nitrox on
the hydro - I had to bring him his student with my scooter) will put you
back a few steps .

35 and 20 are fine. I use less oxygen because there is no advantage to
higher and it 1) limits range ( which you mentioned yourself) , and I don't
want a high ppo2 deep.

One of the reasons that we lowered the O2 was due to some problems that I
had had on the Lowrance. We were not sure if I was narced (at that time I
was doing 21/30) or if it was a problem with the O2. Hence we upped one and
lowered the other. The problem was, I didn't remember the dive. I did the
dive, and did all (including the math for rule of thirds) my skills, checked
gauges, called the dive after 15 minutes, ect.....I got to about 120ft,
thought to myself "shit there's a current" and don't remember anything else
until I was at about 20ft. or so.

That particular dive was at 195ft.

I had a 15 minute bottom time.(took 2 minutes to get there, and 2 minutes
to get back to 100 ft. Did not spend most of the dive at 195. Spent most
at 180.)

1 minute pile stop at 100 (run time 19 minutes)
1 minute at 70(which you think should be 3-which sounds good to me)(run
time: 21 minutes)
  1 minute at 60(run time: 22 minutes.)
  1 minute at 50(RT: 23 minutes)
  3 minutes at 40(RT: 26 minutes)
  4 minutes at 30(RT: 30 minutes)
  7 minutes at 20(RT: 37 minutes)
  18 minutes at 10(RT: 55 minutes)

BTW, I have done that wreck one other time---I remember it this time! Used
the same times, and 20/35.

  Later,
  Karla
