Ron, Todd, I make them slightly positive in fresh water so that you can weight them as you please and so that a change in batteries down the road will leave you some leeway so that you don't end up negative and needing a longer body. The body is 15.5 inches, and any shorter it effects the efficiency of the scooter. For salt, you add 3% ( the scooter you have weighs 33 pounds plus whatever batteries you are using). Also, in the ocean, I like to see the scooter left a tad positive so that if it gets away from you at the boat or falls back overboard, it will be on the surface and you can find it . -----Original Message----- From: Ron Nathlich [mailto:res0sy29@ve*.ne*] Sent: Sunday, February 10, 2002 11:22 PM To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Re: New Wreck Gavin Funny you should post that, I just tried out my new Gavin short body today with the same results. I think a pound or so will do weight wise. They really scream, I was towing my buddy Dave Hettinga for a while and was happy with the speed. When he let go, I was going faster the viz would allow, I had to turn the pitch down all the way. I can't wait for some good viz to really let the hammer down. I wish now that I would have bought one sooner, what a blast! Thanks George!!! Ron Nathlich >Todd Clagett wrote: > All, > > Finally got the new Wreck Gavin Scooter in the water.
