Phi, the AMA has named obesity as the number one health problem today, even above and beyond chain smoking. If somebody has this problem, they need to see a doctor. The laws of physics say that diving and fat don't mix. Tech diving while fat is ridiculous. DIR says one should treat diving like any other sport and stay in some kind of shape for it. Most sports don't carry the penalties that this one does for noncompliance. It seems that anyone who is doing something outside of what we recommend has a big problem with us and spends a lot of time trying to go after us. None of them can tell any of us a better way, and none of them can tell us anything that makes any sense about what they are doing.
